Brothers beat Shinepukur to set up survival showdown with Partex

Half-centuries from Zahiduzzaman and Mizanur Rahman powered Brothers Union to a six-wicket victory over Shinepukur Cricket Club in the relegation phase of the Dhaka Premier League on Monday.
The result leaves Brothers Union level on points with Partex Sporting Club, setting up a decisive clash between the two sides in their final relegation-round fixture to determine which team will go down with Shinepukur.
In a rain-affected match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Brothers chased down a revised target of 181 in 30 overs, completing the job with three overs to spare. Zahiduzzaman anchored the innings with an unbeaten 85 off 88 balls, while Mizanur Rahman provided a brisk start with a 69 off 56 deliveries.
Earlier, Shinepukur were restricted to 180 for 9, with Rahatul Ferdous leading the bowling attack for Brothers Union by picking up three wickets. Zahiduzzaman and Salauddin Sakil chipped in with two wickets apiece. Minhajul Abedin was the standout performer for Shinepukur, remaining unbeaten on 59 off 54 balls in a lone resistance for the already relegated side.
