Following the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), complaints have now emerged in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) regarding players' payments. Players of Partex Sporting Club have boycotted practice due to not receiving their promised wages. They have even threatened to forfeit their match against Gazi Group Cricketers on Thursday.

This season, all clubs in the Premier League have significantly reduced the wages of players. Most cricketers are playing for less than half of what they received last year. Players from smaller teams like Partex are getting nominal payments—if at all. Allegedly, even those minimal amounts haven't been paid.

On Wednesday, Partex were scheduled for a practice session at the Academy Ground in Mirpur. However, several key players including captain Alauddin Babu and Muktar Ali did not attend. These players boycotted the session and submitted a written complaint to BCB Director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, and CCDM.

Later, speaking to the media, Muktar said they are planning to boycott Thursday's match, stating:

"This is not a one-day issue. We've been trying for a long time to get our payments. We've tried to cooperate with the club and the coach in many ways, but they're not responding. That's why we boycotted practice today and have collectively decided not to play tomorrow's match. The wages offered to us this season are already very low, and we're not even receiving that. So, we've decided not to play tomorrow."

"To be honest, the wages in this team are very minimal. We're playing just for the sake of playing. Some players were promised Tk one lakh, others as little as Tk 10,000. Around 50 percent of the payment has been cleared for 4-5 players, and the rest have received only 10 to 20 percent."

Muktar also mentioned that they met with Fahim, the head of cricket operations department. They attempted to meet with the CEO but couldn't reach him.

"We went to Fahim sir, submitted letters to the CEO and CCDM. They said they would discuss the matter."

However, some players were seen practiclsing. Regarding that, Muktar alleged that the club officials are trying to bring in new players registered from the third division to replace them.

Meanwhile, Partex official Sajjad Hossain denied the allegations and claimed that 60 percent of the payments have been made, and the rest will be cleared soon.
