MSC end 11-match losing streak against arch-rivals Abahani

Mohammedan Sporting Club tasted their first List-A victory over arch-rivals Abahani Limited since 2016 when they beat the reigning champions by 39 runs during their final league phase match of the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Riding on opener Anisul Islam's 114 off 118 balls, Mohammedan were bowled out for 264 in 48.2 overs after being sent into bat first. Mahidul Islam Ankon made second-best 48 for Mohammedan.
Abahani, in reply, lost three early wickets but Najmul Hossain Shanto kept them in the race by making 80 off 113 balls. But when he fell as the seventh wicket, Abahani innings crumbled and they got bundled out for 225 in 47.2 overs.
Mohammedan pacer Ebadot Hossain was the most successful bowler, finishing with career-best List-A figures of 4-36 while Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Mohammad Saifuddin took two wickets each.
Meanwhile, in the day's other matches, Prime Bank Cricket Club suffered a five-wicket defeat to Gulshan Cricket Club at the BKSP-4 while Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by 28 runs at the BKSP-3.
With Prime Bank's defeat in their last league match, they are officially out of the Super League race and all six Super League teams have been confirmed on Saturday.
The teams are – Abahani, Mohammedan, Gulshan, Gazi Group Cricketers, Legends of Rupganj and Agrani Bank Cricket Club.
