For over two decades, the band Chirkutt has been a prominent name in the country's music scene. From Bangladesh to international stages, the band has carved out a name for itself. After releasing several albums and songs over the years, Chirkutt is now making a long-awaited comeback. After an eight-year gap, the band is all set to drop its fourth studio album later this month.

At a time when the trend leans towards singles, releasing a full-length album is seen as a bold move.

While the band had previously announced the album and even hinted at the name "Pendulum", it has now been confirmed that the album will be released at the end of this month—albeit under a different title, which is set to be revealed soon.

Chirkutt last released an album in 2017, titled "Udhao". The album featured six tracks: "TV", "Niyom Bujhi Na", "Udhao", "Tarunno", "Keu Jonak Jele", and "Katataar".

According to sources, the upcoming album will feature 10 original songs.

Speaking about the project earlier, the band's frontwoman Sharmin Sultana Sumi shared, "We've worked on this fourth album with great care. It feels joyful to be releasing an album for our listeners after such a long break."

The artiste further said, "Chirkutt is more than just a band to us—it's a family. We're all working day and night on this. All our efforts are for our fans, who mean everything to us. We hope every song in this album will touch hearts."

"We've tried to reflect on contemporary themes throughout, which our audience has always appreciated in our past work. Keeping them in mind, we've crafted this album," she concluded.

On April 10, Sumi wrote on social media, "This album of 10 completely new and original songs has been made for our countless fans at home and abroad, who are our source of inspiration, love, and emotion. We initially created 20 songs and carefully selected the final 10."

She continued, "We've spared no effort. The title of the album has also been finalised—we hope to reveal it next week. With new faces, new songs, we are busy with the final touches on the eve of the Bengali New Year. To be able to create this cool shade of musical journey in our own language, through our own thoughts, is an indescribable joy."

Chirkutt made their debut in 2010 with the album "Chirkutnama", followed by "Jadur Shohor" in 2013.

Alongside their original discography, the band has also earned acclaim for their playback performances in films such as "Doob" ("Aha Jibon"), "Aynabaji" ("Na Jani Duniya"), and "Bhubon Majhi" ("E Shohorer Kaktao Jene Geche").
