Apple is reportedly preparing to raise the prices of its upcoming iPhone models set for release this autumn, according to a recent report by The Wall Street Journal.

Citing anonymous sources within the company's supply chain, the report suggests the price increase will be framed around new features and design enhancements, rather than being explicitly linked to rising U.S. tariffs on Chinese imports.

The move comes amid mounting costs associated with the China-U.S. trade conflict, with Apple estimated to face an additional $900 million in expenses during the third quarter due to the tariffs. While the company has not publicly acknowledged whether the trade war will affect product pricing, the company has been planning to gradually shift production from China to India in an effort to reduce its exposure to import duties, according to a previous report by The Wall Street Journal.

Despite the mounting trade pressures, the U.S. and China agreed earlier this week to temporarily suspend new tariffs for 90 days, allowing room for further negotiations. In parallel, the U.S. government has extended several tariff exemptions for the technology sector, particularly targeting smartphones, laptops, and semiconductor equipment, though a 20% tariff on a wide range of Chinese goods remains in effect.

Apple is expected to unveil iPhone 18 Pro in late 2026 and standard models in 2027.
