Bodies of two students of Notre Dame College were found in Dhaka today.

They are Arafat, 18, a first-year student at Notre Dame College, and Dhruvabrata Das, 18, a second-year student who was set to appear for HSC next month.

DMP Assistant Commissioner (Motijheel Zone) Hussein Muhammad Faradi said students found Dhruvabrata's body lying outside the college's six-storey Father Tim Building around 3:15pm.

He was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at 4:00pm, said DMCH police outpost in-charge Inspector Md Faruk.

Dhruvabrata was a resident of Gopibagh and originally from Gaibandha's Sadar upazila.

Meanwhile, Arafat was found dead in his rented flat in Kamalapur tonight.

Quoting Arafat's roommates, Inspector Faruk said Arafat's door was locked from inside since the evening.

After repeatedly knocking and getting no response, they sought help from his neighbours to break open the door, only to find his body hanging from the ceiling fan, he said.

Arafat was first taken to a local hospital and later transferred to DMCH, where doctors declared him dead on arrival around 8:00pm, he added.

Arafat hailed from Bhairab upazila in Kishoreganj.

The bodies were kept at the morgue for autopsy.
