Yasir Ali's third List A ton saw Dhanmondi Sports Club pick up a 24-run win over Legends of Rupganj at BKSP-3 yesterday to climb to the top of the Dhaka Premier League standings.

Sent to bat, Dhanmondi were struggling at 57 for three when Yasir and Nurul Hasan Sohan stitched a 50-run stand to steady the ship. Following Sohan's dismissal after a 33-run knock in the 25th over, Yasir and Moin Khan produced a 146-run stand in just 110 deliveries to give Dhanmondi a massive boost.

Yasir continued his carnage till the end of the innings and remained unbeaten on 143 off 121 deliveries, laced with seven fours and as many sixes. Ziaur Rahman hit an 18-ball 40-run cameo late in the innings as Dhanmondi reached 332 for seven.

Yasir's knock looks even more commendable when considered the opposition's bowling attack that included national team and fringe players like Shoriful Islam, Tanvir Islam, Rejaur Rahman Raja, and Mahedi Hasan.

Pacer Shoriful remained wicketless, conceding 71 in 10 overs, while left-arm spinner picked up three for 50. Pacer Raja bagged a wicket and Soumya Sarkar was the most expensive one, leaking 62 runs in five overs for just two wickets.

Legends of Rupganj's start was abysmal as they lost Tanzid Tamim (17 off 9), Soumya Sarkar (0 off 2), and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (2 off 8) for cheap scores. Opener Saif Hassan and middle-order batter Afif Hossain stitched together a 172-run fourth-wicket stand before the former fell for 95. Jaker Ali, Akbar Ali, and Mahedi departed cheaply while Afif departed in the 40th over after a 96-ball 98.

Late onslaughts from Raja (49* off 39) and Tanvir (20* off 11) could only see Rupganj reach 308 for 9, losing the game by a convincing margin.

Meanwhile, Gazi Group won by four wickets against Agrani Bank at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium – thanks to opener Sadikur Rahman's 89. Tofael Ahmed, who scalped three wickets, also contributed with 52. Earlier, Imrul Kayes' fifty and Amite Hasan's 89 saw Agrani reach 216 all out.

At BKSP-4, Brothers Union chased down Shinepukur Cricket Club's 288 for nine to win by seven wickets. Mahfiur Islam Rabbi and Mizanur Rahman struck tons, stitching a 250-run stand to ensure smooth sailing for Brothers.

Rabbi struck a 127-ball 114, laced with five fours and four sixes, while Mizanur retired hurt after a 129-ball 136, hitting 10 fours and five sixes.
