Bangladesh leg-spinner Rishad Hossain made headlines after he was drafted in by Hobart Hurricanes to play the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). He would be the second cricketer from Bangladesh after Shakib Al Hasan to play in the tournament but uncertainty shrouded his stint in the tournament due to scheduling clash with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

The Big Bash is set to begin on December 15 and end on January 27 while the BPL will begin on December 30 and end on February 7.

Reports had suggested that Rishad's BPL franchise Fortune Barishal had wanted him available for the whole of the BPL, putting his BBL appearance in doubt. Fortune Barishal owner Mizanur Rahman today confirmed to members of the media that Rishad would be able to feature in the BBL but not the whole of the tournament.

"We have informed that he [Rishad] can play till December 27th so that our matches are not affected. He will be available for our first game if he arrives on 29th. We have also informed the board officially and we had decided a month back [to allow him NOC]. He had also requested that he could play the match on 27th," Mizanur told member of the media.

Bangladesh however have T20 series in West Indies till 20th December and it remains to be seen how many games he can appear in. Hurricanes have their first match against Melbourne Renegades on December 19 followed by matches against Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers on 21st and 27th December respectively.
