Bangladesh star Liton Das has finally signed with a DPL team. The right-handed batter will play for Gulshan Cricket Club this season. Former national team star Tamim Iqbal, who is involved in Gulshan's management group, informed reporters about the development during a press event at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Meanwhile there has been no development regarding Mustafizur Rahman appearing this DPL.

A reduced-budget BPL left domestic players unhappy and in Liton's case, he was unable to negotiate a deal with the prospective clubs before he finally agreed terms with Gulshan. Liton played the previous season in Abahani Limited.

"Liton has found a team, he will be playing for Gulshan," Tamim said.

"I don't know about Mustafizur's situation but it is very unfortunate if something like this happens. They are prominent national team players and obviously they need to be playing this tournament. I also said something yesterday that Premier League is the backbone of Bangladesh cricket so they should be playing the tournament and I hope the big teams here will take them onboard. They are performers wherever they play and deserve to be in the best of the teams," Tamim added.

Mustafizur was released by Prime Bank ahead of this season and the player had not taken any token for the players' transfer on February 22nd and 23rd. He will be needing a NOC if he wants to play with a different club this season.

It remains to be see whether Mustafizur shows any interest in playing DPL this season or whether he has other priorities.
