Kirsten meets with Salahuddin

Former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten -- who arrived in Dhaka on Sunday night – met with local cricket coach Mohammad Salahuddin at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel in the capital today.
Yesterday, Kirsten met with Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim and opener Tamim Iqbal at Pan Pacific Sonargaon to talk about various aspects of the team. However, none of the cricketers had commented on the content of the meeting with Kirsten.
Kirsten is understood to be doing an 'internal audit' of the Tigers and has been appointed as a consultant by the BCB to advise on the coaches Bangladesh can target. He will identify areas that will need particular focus through his assessment, which will continue over the next couple of days.
The meeting with Salahuddin came as a surprise since the local cricket coach is not affiliated with Bangladesh Cricket Board. However, to the star players like Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque and many others, he is their beloved 'Salahuddin sir'. In good or bad times they always trust his advice.
Kirsten met with selector Minhazul Abedin and Habibul Bashar while among the cricketers, he met Soumya Sarkar and Sabbir Rahman.
Kirsten seems to be looking for the right threads in order to analyse where Tigers stand. Following the meeting with Kirsten, Salahuddin informed: "It was good to talk to him. He wanted to know about Bangladesh's cricket and the cricketers. He also asked me about myself."
