US President Donald Trump denied his involvement in Americans storming the US Capitol building on Wednesday, saying instead that former president Barack Obama had instigated people to attack the symbol of American democracy. 

"I now invite everyone to storm Obama's house in Kenya," Trump said during a briefing in the White House today. "I will be with you."

A reporter then showed Trump and everyone in the room the video of the president asking his supporters at a rally on Wednesday to march to the Capitol, and never back down because the 2020 US elections were stolen by President-elect Joe Biden. 

"That's not me; that's fake news," Trump said. 

"Could it be you and fake news?" a reporter asked.

"Don't get smart with me, but yes, that's possible. Person, woman, man, camera, TV. I am the smart one."

Despite the rebuke, another reporter pressed Trump on the fact that it was obviously him talking at the rally just hours before insurgent hordes rushed the Capitol, an action that led to the deaths of five people.

"Look, have you seen the movie Manchurian candidate?" Trump asked. "Obama was controlling me. And that is no easy task, because of, you know, me being a stable genius.

"But I've been trying to say this since 2012… he was born in Kenya. He knows all that voodoo stuff, he was born into it. Remember, during the rally I said 'I will be there' with the marchers. That was Obama saying it, because he was there in whiteface. If you noticed, I wasn't at the Capitol. But I will be there when my supporters storm Obama's house in Kenya… I think it may be time for me to take a little trip now." 

Asked whether him alleging voter fraud for two months was also the work of the Kenyan, he said no. 

"No, that was all me. Listen, when you are the president, you don't need voters' consent… you just grab 'em by the Capitol."
