A supporter of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) was gunned down by unknown miscreants in Naniarchar upazila of Rangamati last night.

Deceased Shantikumar Chakma, 65, was a former member of Ghilachhari union parishad in Naniarchar upazila, reports our Rangamati correspondent.

A gang of 10 to 12 people called Shantikumar out of his Ramharipara house around 11:00pm and sprayed bullets on him, said Md Rashid, officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station.

Shantikumar died on the spot, the OC said.

Sajeeb Chakma, assistant information and publicity secretary of PCJSS central committee, blamed activists of its rival United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) for the killing.

On the other hand, Sonamoni Chakma, press secretary of UPDF, denied their link with the murder.
