Hedayet Hossain Chowdhury, founding chairman of Karna-phuli Group and father of Awami League lawmaker Saber Hossain Chowdhury, died of old-age complications yesterday at United Hospital in Dhaka. He was 84.
He left behind two other sons.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Basabo field after Zohr prayers and he will be buried before his Poribagh residence after the second namaz-e-janaza following Asr prayers today.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, Chief Whip ASM Feroz and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor mourned the death.
