Honour for best from Bangladesh

The Daily Star yesterday honoured a student of Bangladesh International School for having secured the highest score in the A-level examination for session 2013-2014.
Mohammad Fahim Tajwar outshone all those who sat for the exam from Bangladesh.
Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star, awarded him with a medal and a certificate during an idea-sharing seminar, also attended by 50 top achievers in the O- and A-level exams, at The Daily Star Centre in the capital.
Tajwar obtained A* in six subjects: accounting, biology, chemistry, further mathematics, mathematics and physics.
The quality of science education in the country should reach a level that would deserve the Nobel Prize, said Tajwar while speaking at the programme.
The Daily Star honoured a total of 1,760 top achievers in O- and A-level exams for the session 2013-2014 at its 16th annual award presentation ceremony on March 28 in recognition of their academic excellence. But Tajwar's name did not appear then due to his delayed entry.
