An 11-year-old boy died of suffocation when a piece of meat got stuck in his throat in Jhumjhumpur area of the district town on Saturday night.
The deceased is Al- Amin, son of Kalam Molla, a resident of the area.
Abdul Kalam, father of the victim, said Al-Amin fell sick when a piece of meat got stuck in his throat while he was having dinner around 9:30pm. His son could not breathe and fainted within moment, Kalam said.
Later, his family members rushed him to Jessore Medical College Hospital where he died around 10:30pm.
