The Bangladesh Football Federation has asked the National Sports Council to hand over the National Stadium by May 22 ahead of Bangladesh's home AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers home fixture against Singapore on June 10.

AFC match commissioner Mindu Dorji inspected the premier venue of the country on Sunday, both during the day to see the facilities and during the night to inspect the floodlights and the giant screen.

The national stadium has been undergoing renovation since August 2021.

Following the inspection, BFF's executive committee member Kamrul Hasan Hilton spoke to media.

"The AFC representative was satisfied with the outlook of the stadium. However, there are a few small observations, such as the match commissioner's room, dope test room, dressing rooms, etc. The main issues, though, were the pitch and the floodlights," Hilton said.

"There were officials of the National Sports Council and we all had a meeting with the AFC official. We gave them a deadline of May 10 to complete the floodlight renovation and May 22 to complete the whole ground and other infrastructure," the BFF office-bearer added.
