Actor Deepika Padukone is reportedly set to reunite with Shah Rukh Khan for their upcoming film "King", directed by Siddharth Anand. According to a report by PeepingMoon, Padukone will appear in an extended cameo as Suhana Khan's mother in the action thriller.

This marks yet another maternal role for Padukone, following her appearances in recent films like "Jawan" (2023), "Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva" (2022), and "Kalki 2898 AD".

Sources reveal that her character in "King" is central to the story's conflict. "Both Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand were keen on casting Deepika for this special character, and she enthusiastically accepted the offer despite it not being a full-fledged lead role," the report stated.

"King" will be the sixth collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, and their third consecutive project after "Pathaan" and "Jawan". 

The film also stars Abhay Verma of "Munjya" fame and is expected to go into production between May and June this year, with a release planned for next year.
