MAS Intimates supports community initiatives in Bangladesh alongside industrial operations

MAS Intimates, the Bangladesh-based division of global apparel group MAS Holdings, has introduced a range of social and environmental initiatives aimed at supporting local communities. These efforts are positioned alongside the company's industrial growth strategy and focus on areas such as food provision, healthcare access, education, mobility, and environmental awareness.
The initiatives are rooted in the company's belief that business success is linked to the well-being of neighbouring communities. Programmes are delivered in coordination with employees and local partners.
In Chittagong, MAS Intimates conducted a meal distribution drive that delivered more than 2,000 meals to orphaned and street children, including those at Ilmul Quran Hafizia Madrasha and Bashudev Orphanage in Hathazari. The initiative also involved employee volunteering.
At the Mahamuni Widow & Helpless Children Welfare Centre, the company supplied dry food items, hygiene kits, and school materials. According to MAS Intimates, these contributions aim to provide ongoing support, particularly to women and children.
Healthcare facilities have also received attention. The company funded the renovation of the Minor Operating Theatre at Karnaphuli BEPZA Hospital, including upgrades to lighting and patient beds. This facility serves workers in the BEPZA economic zone, which encompasses around 75,000 individuals.
In addition, MAS Intimates introduced a mobility support initiative through the distribution of 30 wheelchairs to people with disabilities. The scheme was intended to promote personal independence for the recipients.
Environmental efforts have included a beach clean-up covering three kilometres of coastline. This project focused on waste removal and was designed to promote awareness of marine pollution and responsible disposal practices.
These activities reflect a broader approach to sustainability practices within MAS Intimates, which frames community and environmental engagement as part of its operational model. The company describes them as long-term investments in social infrastructure.
