Rangamati sadar upazila outplayed the Baghaichhari upazila by 3-2 goals in the opening match of Deputy Commissioner's Gold Cup Football Tournament at the Rangamati Chinglah Moung Chowdhury (Mari) Stadium yesterday.
Some ten teams from ten upazilas of the district are participating in the tournament.
Naniachar upazila will take on Jurachhari in today's match. The final match will be held on October 31 at the same venue.
Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma, chairman of Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest. Private telecom operator Robi is sponsoring the tournament.
