The National Citizen Party has urged the government to announce a comprehensive roadmap addressing three key issues -- justice for the July massacre, structural reforms, and the parliamentary elections.

Following a late-night meeting with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, NCP Convener Nahid Islam told reporters that the party seeks a coordinated approach to these matters.

"We have demanded a unified roadmap for the trial of the July killings, the implementation of the July Charter, and the election of the Constituent Assembly," Nahid stated.

He reaffirmed the party's support for Yunus, urging him to fulfil his commitment to democratic transition before making any decisions regarding his position.

Nahid emphasised that the July Charter must be issued within the promised 30 working days, as previously assured by the government. He also raised concerns over the slow rehabilitation process for victims of the July uprising, noting that many families have yet to receive financial aid and monthly allowances.

"The government must ensure swift financial assistance and rehabilitation for the affected families," he added.

The NCP leader called for the formal annulment of all elections held under Sheikh Hasina's administration, citing allegations of rigged voting and suppression of opposition voices.

"Those elections were conducted under a fascist regime, where people's voting rights were stripped away," Nahid asserted.

He also demanded the restructuring of the Election Commission, arguing that the current body lacks credibility. The party urged the government to prioritise local government elections to restore public trust in democratic institutions.

Addressing speculation about student advisers in the interim government, Nahid clarified that they were appointed as representatives of the July uprising, not as political affiliates of any party.

"Attempts to discredit them and force their resignation are politically motivated," he said.

Responding to questions about Yunus's potential resignation, Nahid stated that the CA must remain in office and resolve political disputes through dialogue.

"He was appointed by the people and the student-led uprising, not by any political party. His decisions must reflect their aspirations," Nahid emphasised.

He acknowledged growing concerns that pressure from various factions is making it difficult for Yunus to implement reforms, leading to frustration within the administration.
