Two motorcyclists die after being run over by truck in Banani

Two motorcyclists died on the spot after a concrete mixer truck run them over in Dhaka's Banani area this morning.

One of the deceased has been identified as Ashfaqur Rahman Asif, 25, said Mehedi Hasan, warehouse inspector at Kurmitola Fire Station.

The accident occurred around 9:00am near the Kakoli bus stand, as the motorcycle was heading towards Mohakhali, said Rasel Sarwar, officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station.

Fire official Mehedi Hasan said the motorcycle skidded on the road when the truck ran them over.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.
