Yunus lauds Bangladesh Army’s role in protecting sovereignty

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, has commended the Bangladesh Army for its professionalism and dedication, expressing confidence that it will continue to safeguard national security and sovereignty.

He made the remarks today when Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman paid a courtesy call on him at the state guesthouse Jamuna, according to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the meeting, the army chief briefed the chief adviser on security preparations for the upcoming Eid, including measures for smooth traffic movement and safety at launch terminals, train stations, and bus stands. He also highlighted initiatives to foster understanding between industrial owners and workers.

General Waqar-uz-Zaman further informed the chief adviser about the army's plans to organise iftar and prayer gatherings in all cantonments to honour those injured in the July uprising, alongside financial assistance for the families of wounded and martyred soldiers.

Yunus provided necessary guidance for future operations and extended Eid greetings to army personnel, the ISPR release added.
