Man 'beaten to death' in Gazipur, 3 held

A man was allegedly beaten to death in Gazipur today.

The deceased has been identified as Jewel Talukder, 43, a fruit trader.

Three individuals were arrested in connection with the incident, confirmed GMP Konabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salah Uddin.

The arrestees are Rafiqul Islam Roni, 42, his wife Salma Begum, 37, and SM Rafiqul Islam, 60.

According to the OC, the "miscreants beat to death a fruit trader suspected of stealing a mobile phone in Amtola area of Konabari at 12:30pm today."

Later, the deceased's brother Azad Talukder filed a case against 10 named and 10-12 unknown individuals, the OC said.

The accused have been sent to court, the OC added.
