No threat centring Pahela Baishakh

Home Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury yesterday said they have not received any security threats centring Pahela Baishakh celebrations.
"There is no security threat around the celebration of the Pahela Baishakh," he said.
He said this while speaking to journalists in a joint briefing with Cultural Affair Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki at the secretariat.
Jahangir emphasised that all necessary measures are being implemented to ensure safety during the festivities to mark the first day of the Bangla calendar, which typically falls on April 14.
He said Pahela Baishakh will be celebrated joyfully across the country.
Jahangir said extensive measures would be in place to prevent any untoward incidents.
"We are making arrangements to maintain law and order during the morning procession, and cultural programmes at Ramna batamul, Hatirjheel, and Rabindra Sarobar. Additionally, law enforcement agencies will be deployed at events outside Dhaka."
Farooki said a press conference will be held today with details of programmes scheduled for Chaitra Sankranti, as well as Pahela Baishakh.
"Everyone will have access to the full list of programmes and details tomorrow," he said.
