Govt raises festival allowance for MPO-listed teachers

The festival allowance for MPO-listed teachers of non-government educational institutions has been increased from 25 percent to 50 percent of their basic salary, effective today.

The Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance issued a notification yesterday, outlining four specific conditions attached to the revised benefit, according to ministry sources.

Teachers at MPO-enlisted schools, colleges, madrasas, and technical institutions are expected to receive the enhanced bonus ahead of Eid-ul-Azha. However, the festival allowance for employees of these institutions remains unchanged, as they have already been receiving 50 percent of their basic salary as a festival allowance.
