Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, today reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring safe and hassle-free travel for holidaymakers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.

In a post on his verified Facebook profile, the adviser said the Ministry of Railways has decided to add extra train carriages to accommodate the anticipated surge in passengers during the festival.

"To ensure smooth and uninterrupted Eid travel, the interim government has already convened an inter-ministerial meeting," he stated.

He added that comprehensive measures have been taken to address frequent passenger concerns, including fare manipulation, extortion, and theft across road, rail, and water transport systems.

Reiterating the government's stance, Asif said that, similar to Eid-ul-Fitr, all efforts are being made to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of travellers returning home to celebrate Eid.
