Fakhrul off to Thailand for eye treatment

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has travelled to Bangkok, Thailand, for eye surgery.

Fakhrul, along with his wife Rahat Ara Begum, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:45am today on a Thai Airways flight, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

Fakhrul is scheduled to undergo treatment at Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok, following medical advice from doctors at United Hospital in Dhaka on May 11, he said.

The BNP leader has sought prayers from the nation for a successful procedure and swift recovery, he added.
