HC stays publication of DU ‘Ga’ unit admission test results

The High Court today stayed the publication of the results of Dhaka University's "Ga" unit admission test, held on February 8, for two months, citing allegations of anomalies in the question paper.
The court also issued a rule asking the authorities concerned of the DU to explain why they should not be directed to cancel the result of "Ga" unit admission test for the anomalies, Deputy Attorney General Aktar Hossain Md Abdul Wahab told The Daily Star.
The HC bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi came up with the order and rule following a writ petition filed by a candidate student, Zihan Al-Fuad, seeking the necessary order.
The petitioner himself moved the petition while lawyer Mohammad Shishir Manir appeared for the DU during the hearing.
The HC bench also heard opinions from the dean of the commerce faculty of DU, a teacher of its computer science department, and a teacher of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology during the hearing.
The teachers told the court that there are minimum number of anomalies in the question papers of "Ga" unit admission test, DAG Akthar Hossain added.
