Murder of Ha-Meem Group GM: 2 arrested, including victim's driver

The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) has arrested two people today from Gaibandha in connection with the killing of Md Ahsan Ullah, general manager of Ha-Meem Group.

One of the arrestees is the prime suspect Saiful Islam, the victim's driver. The other arrestee has been identified as Nurunnabi.

Rab-13 apprehended Saiful while he was hiding at a relative's house in Sundarganj, Gaibandha, said Additional Superintendent Anis Uddin, company commander of Rab-13's Gaibandha camp.

Rab recovered two mobile phones from the arrestees. Both suspects were later handed over to Rab-1 in Dhaka.

Two days after his disappearance, police yesterday had recovered Ahsan Ullah's body from the side of a road in Dhaka's Diabari.

The body was recovered from Road 3 of Sector 16, Diabari, around noon.

Turag Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Rahat Khan said the body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

A case was filed in this regard, said the OC, adding that they are looking into the matter.

Ahsan Ullah went missing last Sunday.
