A three-day Baul Mela began at Manikganj Government Boys' High
School premises in Manikganj on Monday.
Information Secretary Hedayetullah Al Mamun formally inaugurated the traditional event while DG, Bangladesh Television M. Hamid was special guest.
Mother Foundation in Manikganj arranged the fair to observe the third anniversary of the organisation.
Founder of the organisation and Mayor of Manikganj Municipality, Md. Ramzan Ali said the organisation will accord a reception to the meritorious students of the district.
Renowned Lalon singer and exponent Farida Parvin, Nakul Kumar Biswas, Shahnaz Beli, and Baul singers Lipi Sarker, Pagal Monir, Malek Sarker, Aklima Begum, Shah Alam Sarker and Nazrul Islam will render songs at the programme.
