Rejecting the prime minister's claim against him, former communications minister Nazmul Huda yesterday said the World Bank has suspended fund for Padma Bridge project due to corruption by the incumbent communications minister.
“The prime minister has lied about me.
In fact, the World Bank committed to the large loan for Padma Bridge due to BNP government's success in Mohakhali flyover project,” he said at a press conference in his chamber on Topkhana Road of the city.
At a rally on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said corruption in the communications ministry during the last BNP-led government rule caused the suspension of funds.
Huda said the World Bank clearly stated about corruption by the company owned by now Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain.
