Ex-AL lawmaker Mirza Latif passes away

Haji Abdul Latif Mirza, a valiant freedom fighter and former Awami League lawmaker from Sirajganj-4 constituency (Ullapara), passed away due to a cardiac arrest at Avicenna Hospital in Sirajganj town on Monday night at the age of 57.
Mirza left behind his wife, one son and one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
After four namaz-e-janazas at four different places, he was buried at his family graveyard at Bonkirat with state honour.
BSS adds: Speaker Barrister Muhammad Jamir Uddin Sircar and Deputy Speaker Akhtar Hamid Siddiqui yesterday condoled the death of Abdul Latif Mirza.
In a condolence message, they said Latif Mirza was an experienced parliamentarian and dedicated politician, who made contribution to the modernisation of his area through infrastructure development and social service.
They also recalled with deep gratitude the contribution of Latif Mirza to the War of Liberation.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Sirajganj district Awami League and its front organisations, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Sirajganj Zila Sangbadik Forum, Sirajganj Press Club and different organisations also expressed deep shock at the death of Haji Abdul Latif Mirza.
His qulkhwani will be held at Chorastha Jame Mosque in the town after Juma prayers on Friday.
