At least two people died of dengue and 22 were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours till yesterday morning, raising this year's death toll to 16 and the total number of cases to 2,074, according to the DGHS.

The latest fatalities were reported from the Barishal division.

Currently, 102 dengue patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals across the country.

Last year, the country experienced a severe dengue outbreak that resulted in 575 deaths and 1,01,214 reported cases. A total of 1,00,040 patients recovered during that period.
