Case filed over killing elephant in Ctg

The Forest Department has filed a case over the brutal killing of a wild elephant in the Banshkhali area of Chattogram.
Alamgir Hossain, the beat officer of the Chechuria Forest office, filed the case today with the Banshkhali Police Station against Sarwar Hossain and Md Zafar, residents of Purbo Chechuria in the Boilchhari union of Banshkhali upazila under the Wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act.
According to the case statement, the duo, along with several unidentified accomplices, attacked the elephant with sharp weapons until it died on April 6. They then removed its tusks and nails.
Confirming the matter, Monowar Hossain, ranger of the Chattogram South Forest Division, said, "We have initially identified two suspects. We are cooperating with police in the investigation."
