The epic saga of the terrifying nun is set to continue in "The Nun 2". Warner Bros has announced that "The Conjuring" spinoff is set to release in the theatres on September 8, 2023, five years after the original movie hit the silver screen.

The spinoff will feature Taissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons as Sister Irene and Demon Nun Valek respectively.

Coincidentally, "The Nun" was released on the same weekend September 7, 2018. The original Nun focused on the malicious spirit, 'Valak', who first debuted in "The Conjuring 2".

"The Nun" earned USD 365.6 million worldwide and was touted as one of the highest-grossing horror movies ever. However, the film received the worst Rotten Tomatoes score of the entire Conjuring Universe, with a Tomatometer score of 25 percent. "The Nun 2" will be the first film after 2021's "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It".
