Shahiduzzaman Selim has officially been elected president of the Directors' Guild for the 2025-27 term, securing 271 votes, while Faridul Hasan claimed the general secretary position with 222 votes. The newly elected leaders will oversee the organisation for the next two years.

The voting took place at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy yesterday from 9:30am to 5:00pm. After the counting was completed, Chief Election Commissioner Naresh Bhuiyan announced the results at around 8:45pm.

This year a total of 501 voters were eligible to participate in the election, with 446 exercising their right to vote.

Rasheda Akter Lajuk, Firoz Khan, and Shakal Ahmed were elected as vice presidents. Tuhin Hossain and Din Mohammad Montu were elected as joint general secretaries. 

Additionally, Raihan Jewel was elected as treasurer with 253 votes, Moniruzzaman Lipon as organisational secretary with 226 votes, Md Nazmul Huda Roni as Publicity and Publications secretary with 253 votes, Gazi Appel Mahmud as Training and Archives secretary with 268 votes, Sanjoy Barua as Information and Technology secretary with 223 votes, Preety Dutta as Law and Welfare secretary with 221 votes, and Syed Rahman as office secretary with 295 votes.

The executive committee positions saw Sagar Jahan elected with 284 votes, followed by Chayanika Chowdhury with 269, Mahmud Niaz Chandrodip with 264, Gitali Hasan with 239, while Litu Korim and Shihab Shaheen each secured 228 votes, and Hasan Rezaul received 223 votes.
