Bangladeshi short film ‘Another World’ selected for Bulgaria’s Golden FEMI Film Fest

Bangladesh's short film "Another World", directed by KM Sohag Rana, has been officially selected for the fourth edition of Bulgaria's prestigious Golden FEMI Film Festival. The organisers have extended a special invitation to the filmmaker to attend the event.
On April 19, Efemia Fard, the artistic director of the Golden FEMI Film Festival, sent an official letter to KM Sohag Rana, informing him that "Another World" has been named a finalist. The award ceremony is set to take place on June 7 at the Royal Hall of the Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel. Adding to the event's prestige, Bulgaria's Vice President Iliana Iotova will be attending as the festival's honorary patron.

"Another World" tells the heartfelt story of two orphaned brothers, Aladin and Alamin, portrayed by two real-life street children living in Dhaka's Uttara area. The cast also features performances by GM Masud and Marzia.
KM Sohag Rana expressed his joy at the film's international recognition. "It's a different kind of happiness to see your work reach a global platform," he said. "This is my first international accolade, and I'm incredibly grateful to my mentor, filmmaker Muhammad Mostafa Kamal Raz, from whom I learned the craft."

Speaking about the film's theme, Rana added, "Through this short film, I wanted to deliver a message. I've raised simple yet profound questions from the perspective of children—questions that reflect on our society and even the state."
The cinematography of "Another World" was handled by Fuad Bin Alamgir, with Mahfuz Leon taking charge of editing and colour grading. The project was produced by Parvez Mia.
