Mirza Azam's mother dies

Mosammat Nurunnahar Begum, mother of State Minister for Textiles and Jute and Awami League Central Working Committee Member Mirza Azam, died of old-age complications at a hospital in the capital yesterday. She was 81.

She left behind six sons, two daughters and grandchildren.

She will be buried at the family graveyard in Madarganj upazila in the district after the Esha prayers.

Her first namaz-e-janaza was held in front of NAM Bhaban after the Zohr prayers, the second namaz-e-janaza will be held on Kacharipara Shahi Mosque premises in the district town in the  evening and the third namaz-e-janaza will be held at Balizury High School field in Madarganj  upazila.

Prime Minister  Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the death of Nurunnahar Begum.

In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

In separate messages, AL and other ministers also expressed condolence.
