RU entry tests begin

The undergraduate admission tests for the 2024-25 academic year at Rajshahi University (RU) began yesterday with the B Unit (commerce) examination, held simultaneously at the RU campus and five regional centres.
The one-hour multiple-choice question (MCQ) test began at 11:00am and concluded at 12:00pm.
A total of 42,433 candidates applied for 559 seats, with 76 students competing for each seat. Among these, 367 seats are allocated for Commerce, 166 for Science, and 26 for Humanities stream students.
At a press briefing held at 11:30am yesterday, RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Saleh Hasan Naqib said this is the first time the university has held admission tests outside the main campus. He added that the process was smooth and no incidents of fraud were reported.
The vice-chancellor also noted that around 85 percent of the applicants were present for the test.
