3-day robotics and technology festival "Robolution 1.0" begins at CUET

The National Robotics and Technology Festival "MIE Robolution 1.0" has begun today at Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
The three-day event has become a gathering hub for technology enthusiasts and students.
More than 700 students from over 41 universities and colleges across the country are participating in the festival.
Organised by the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering (MIE) at CUET, the festival offers a diverse and enriching experience for students from all over the country.
The festival was inaugurated with a cake-cutting ceremony and a vibrant rally. The rally started from the MIE department, moved through the university's central roundabout, and concluded at the central auditorium. The inauguration ceremony started at 11 a.m.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Muttin Bhuiyan said, "The use of robots is transforming the labor market, especially in mechanical and repetitive tasks. However, human qualities and creativity remain important. To face future challenges, acquiring technological knowledge and new skills is crucial. Proficiency in mechatronics and industrial engineering significantly enhances career prospects."
Invited speakers at the event discussed the application of robotics in various industries and related technological aspects.

Alongside seminars, the festival features various competitions based on technology, innovation, mechatronics, robotics, software, and design. One of the key highlights of "MIE Robolution 1.0" is the "Techathon," the country's first hackathon integrating both hardware and software in real time.
Other events include a CAD competition, Robo Soccer, Line Following Robots, Project Showcase, and a chess tournament.
On the second day of the festival (Friday), the Line Following Robot, Soccer Bot, and Techathon competitions will be held.
Speaking about the event, Head of the MIE Department Professor Dr. Prosanjit Das said, "The main goal of this initiative is to ignite interest in technology and robotics education among the youth of Bangladesh, enhance their innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, and create a standard platform for national-level competitions. This is not just an event; it is a source of inspiration for tech-enthusiastic youth. Moreover, the presence of top researchers and technology experts in this festival will greatly enrich and motivate the students."
Mehedi Hasan Abhi, a final-year student of the MIE department, said, "MIE Robolution 1.0 is a national-level robotics competition launched with a vibrant rally and seminars. This event unites the fields of automation, robotics, and innovation in Bangladesh, playing a vital role in technological advancement. It also creates a bridge between the MIE departm
