Stocks fall in morning trade

Stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange fell slightly in the first hour of trading today.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, lost 11.32 points, or 0.22 percent, to stand at 4,984.13 as of 11:12 am.
The Shariah-based DSES index dropped 0.34 percent to 1,104.15, while the DS30, comprising blue-chip stocks, declined 0.55 percent to 1,842.13.
Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, stood at Tk 113.02 crore during the session.
Of the 395 issues traded, 144 advanced, 159 declined, and 82 remained unchanged.
Emerald Oil Industries topped the gainers' list, rising more than 9 percent, while Anlimayarn Dyeing suffered the highest fall, dropping 8 percent.
