Stocks down in early trade

The Dhaka Stock Exchange indices dropped points in morning trade today, extending the losing run for the second consecutive day.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, lost 14.67 points, or 0.30 percent, to reach 4,859.90 as of 11:28 am.
The Shariah-compliant DSES index declined 0.43 percent to 1,059.16, while the DS30, which tracks blue-chip stocks, fell by 0.25 percent to 1,794.17.
Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, stood at Tk 105.90 crore during the session.
Of the 395 issues traded, 104 advanced, 209 declined, and 76 remained unchanged.
Shares of City Insurance posted the highest gain, rising more than 9 percent, while Meghna Condensed Milk Industries suffered the biggest loss, falling 5 percent.
