Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid of Management Information Systems Department of Dhaka University has been appointed vice-chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) for four years.

Professor Hasibur, who has been currently serving as the BRUR treasurer, will replace Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, who completed his tenure on May 31.

The education ministry issued a notice today over the appointment of the new VC.

According to the notice, the appointment of Professor Hasibur Rashid will be effective from June 14.

As the chief executive officer of the university, the vice-chancellor must stay on the university campus all the time, added the notice.
