Noted Nazrul Sangeet artistes Khairul Anam Shakil and Kalpana Anam are set to launch their maiden Rabindra Sangeet Album “Ektuku ChhoNya Lagey” today (May 20) at 6:30pm at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut. Laser Vision has produced the album. Durbadal Chattopadhyay and Amlan Datta have arranged music for the album.

Sushmita Islam, daughter-in-law of Poet Golam Mostafa, will attend the launching ceremony as chief guest. Eminent artist Mustafa Monwar, noted human rights activist Sultana Kamal and renowned singer Iffat Ara Dewan will grace the occasion as special guests.

The album contains 14 tracks including a duet “Tumi Robey Nirobey”. Khairul Anam Shakil recorded six solos while Kalpana Anam lent her voices to seven songs for the album.

The singer couple recorded the album on request from the wife of Poet Golam Mostafa. “The creations of Rabindranath are priceless assets for all the Bangalees. Sushmita Khala loves us a lot. On her request, I have recorded songs for the album. Frankly speaking, without Kalpana's active cooperation, this album wouldn't come out,” said Khairul Anam Shakil.

“We were very careful of maintaining original lyrics, tunes and moods of the recorded songs as we are practising Nazrul Sangeet for long. The songs of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam are our great treasure troves. We always love to hold their creations high,” said Kalpana Anam.
