In a major reshuffle, 19 senior police officials including an additional inspector general of police (IGP) have been transferred.
The government appointed Additional IGP Sheikh Hemayet Hossain of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) as the chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), according to a home ministry circular issued today.
The post remained vacant since December 31 when previous CID chief Mukhlesur Rahman was given new posting as additional IGP (Admin) at Police Headquarters.
The other police officials are: three deputy inspectors general (DIG), three additional DIGs, and 12 officials with the rank of superintendent of police.  
DIG Mosharaf Hossain has been transferred to police HQ.
DIG SM Ruhul Amin of police HQ was shifted to Dhaka Railway Range while its outgoing DIG Mollik Fakrul Islam has been transferred to Dhaka Highway Police.
Additional DIG SM Kamal Hossain of Dhaka Highway Police was posted to CID. Additional DIG Mohammad Ali Mia of Special Branch of police was transferred to Rajshahi Range Police while its outgoing additional DIG M Khurshid Hossain was posted to police HQ in Dhaka.
