Buet dorms to reopen Nov 10

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) authorities have decided to reopen its dormitories for honours students on November 10.
Classes will begin from November 13, according to a decision taken at the academic session review committee's meeting today with Buet Vice-Chancellor Prof Satya Prasad Majumder in the chair, said a press release today.
Buet Pro VC, deans, department chairs, and hall provosts attended the meeting.
The residential halls will only be opened for honours students, except for Shahid Smriti Hall where masters students stay and their exams were over already, said the release.
Students, who have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine, will be allowed in the halls.
"About 82 percent students of the university have already received single dose of Covid-19 shot and 68 percent have received both doses," said Prof Md Mizanur Rahman, Buet director of students' welfare.
"A temporary Covid-19 vaccine campaign will be held on the campus shortly to vaccinate all students," he added.
