Jaago Women Scholarship Program marks continued support for female students

The Jaago Women Scholarship Program, a joint initiative by global non-profit U-GO and the Jaago Foundation, hosted "Bridging Futures: JAAGO Women Scholars Connect" on 10 February in Dhaka. The event brought together scholarship recipients and donors to discuss the role of education in supporting young women's academic and professional development in Bangladesh.
Launched in 2022, the program provides financial assistance, skill development training, and mentorship to underprivileged female students enrolled in public universities across the country. To date, 276 students have received scholarships, with the upcoming third cohort expected to expand the program's reach.
The event addressed topics such as mentorship, career guidance, and leadership development, aiming to strengthen connections between scholars and donors. Participants engaged in discussions on navigating professional environments and fostering leadership skills. Korvi Rakshand, executive director of the Jaago Foundation, described the program as an example of collaborative efforts to improve educational opportunities for women facing socio-economic barriers.
The Jaago Women Scholarship Program is set to expand its support for female students through additional cohorts and continued partnerships with donors and educational institutions.
