GlocalMe introduced the PetPhone, a device designed to enable real-time interaction between pets and their owners at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 held in Barcelona. 

Marketed as a "smartphone for pets", the device combines two-way communication, health monitoring, and location tracking to enhance pet care through technology. According to GlocalMe, unlike traditional pet wearables, which focus primarily on GPS tracking and activity monitoring, the PetPhone integrates voice interaction. 

The device can be programmed to recognise specific barks or behavioural patterns, alerting the owner when the pet appears agitated or distressed. In response, owners can initiate a remote voice command, allowing them to comfort their pet even when they are not physically present. The system is designed to help pets associate their owner's voice with reassurance, potentially reducing anxiety when left alone, claims GlocalMe.

In addition to communication features, the PetPhone provides health tracking, giving insights to real-time data on a pet's activity levels and wellbeing. It also incorporates a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth tracking to improve location accuracy so that owners can locate their pet even in areas where a single tracking method might be insufficient, as per GlocalMe.
