BCS organises ICT Fest 2025

Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) has recently organised a three-day long ICT Fest 2025 in collaboration with the Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
The festival, held at the BUET campus from 13 to 15 February, focused on the theme "Empowering Cyber Talent and Showcasing Innovation." It featured a 24-hour online Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, which began at 8 PM on 13 February. A total of 257 teams, composed of students and professionals from across the country, took part in the contest, demonstrating their cybersecurity skills. The competition ended the following evening, with the organisers announcing winners.
On the final day, several events took place at different venues within the BUET Auditorium, including project showcases, poster presentations, and seven technical sessions covering topics such as SQL injection threats and protection, productive cyber threats, AI-controlled penetration testing, dark sides of DNS, and the AI/ML landscape.
The festival also hosted two panel discussions on "Cyber Frontier Trends, Threats, and Defences" and "Future of Intelligent Risk Management and Fraud Detection." These discussions brought together professionals, students, and academics for an interactive exchange of ideas and perspectives.
At the closing and award giving ceremony, winners of the CTF competition, project showcase, and poster presentation were recognised.
In his closing remarks, BCS Secretary General Alin Boby reaffirmed the organisation's commitment to supporting future initiatives in technology and cybersecurity. He also announced the establishment of BCS Student Forums at universities nationwide to further engage students in the ICT sector.
