The Election Commission, reaffirming that the next parliamentary polls will be held in December, yesterday initiated the registration process for new political parties.
It will not be feasible to hold local elections before the national polls mainly because of the lengthy process and logistics involved, say Election Commission officials.
The list now includes 6,33,30,103 male voters, 6,03,52,415 female voters, and 994 voters of the hijra community
